Arnab Goswami is an Indian news anchor who was born on 7 March 1973 in Guwahati, Assam, India. He belonged to an army background and did his schooling from various schools across the country. He got his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the Hindu College, University of Delhi and completed his Master’s in Social Anthropology from St. Antony’s College at Oxford University.
Arnab started his career by working for The Telegraph as a journalist. A few months later, he moved to Delhi and joined NDTV where he anchored daily newscasts. In the year 2006, Arnab became the editor-in-chief and news anchor of Times Now and ET Now where he anchored TheNewshour, a live debate at 9 pm on weekdays. He also hosted a special television programme named Frankly Speaking with Arnab but resigned from his job in November 2016 and launched his own news channel Republic TV in May 2017. Presently, Arnab is the managing director and editor-in-chief of Republic Media Network that operates two channels namely, Republic TV in English and Republic Bharat in Hindi.
Arnab is married to Samyabrata Ray Goswami, her college love and the co-owner of Republic TV. The couple has a son named Che Goswami.
